It might be unseasonably cool this weekend, but the hot Carolina summer is on it’s way! Make sure you check your AC unit now before our first heat wave hits.
Many local HVAC companies will come out and do pre-season tune-ups to ensure your system is ready to handle the summer weather. HVAC tune-ups also often help ensure the system is operating efficiently to help keep your energy bills low. This inexpensive process can help you save money all summer long!
Change the Filter
Change your filter before you turn your AC on for the first time, and also change it every 1-2 months through-out the summer. Even if the filter doesn’t look dirty, it is good practice to change it often. This can not only increase the life of the unit, but can also help the unit operate more efficiently on the really hot days, helping you save on your energy bill.
Clean the Outdoor Unit
Make sure the outdoor unit is free of debris and remove any plants or weeds that could get sucked inside. If the unit were to suck any debris our weeds inside, it could clog the ducts.
Stay cool this summer!!
