Now that the storm has passed many Southeastern NC residents find themselves in need of temporary housing. The demand is high and many homeowners are struggling to find an available rental. The Chris Luther Team specializes in home sales, but we have gathered a list of rental resources below:
AirBNB– While AirBNB is typically used for vacation rentals, many homeowners are willing to extend rental periods at a discounted rate in situations like these. If you find a rental that is available for the time period you need, you can email the owner on the website and explain your situation to see if they would be willing to work with you.
VRBO – Vacation Rentals by Owner (VRBO) operates on a similar premise to AirBNB, and you can contact homeowners directly.
Vacation Rental Companies– Many of the area islands did not experience as much damage as we did inland. Homes on vacation rental programs often rent their homes out to “snowbirds” in the off-season months at a monthly rate. You can call area vacation rental companies and ask them about their snowbird or off-season monthly rental programs. Some area companies are listed below;
Carolina Beach/Kure Beach
Sea Coast Rentals 800-334-5806
Bryant Real Estate 800-322-3764
Victory Beach Vacations 888-256-4804
Intracoastal Rentals 855-346-2463
Ocean Breeze Properties 910-707-0308
Palm Air Realty 910-458-5269
Sea Scape Properties 910-332-7284
Ocean Isle Beach
Sunset Beach Mainland– Many area golf courses have condos that they will rent long term.
Be wary of sites such as Craigslist and Facebook. While there are legitimate rentals on these sites, there are many scammers out there looking to take advantage of the situation. Use caution and verify any information you can prior to touring the property or leaving a deposit. Read more about avoiding Craigs List rental scams HERE.
