    Agent Spotlight – Jordan Manning

What do you enjoy about real estate?

I love having the opportunity to be a part of such a special event in peoples lives. Buying or selling a house is a life-changing event, and being able to help my clients with something that’s so important to them and their families’ gives me a great sense of pride. It’s such an amazing feeling handing over the keys to a client who has just closed on their dream home.

    -What brought you to Wilmington?

I grew up near the OBX, so living close to the beach was always a high priority of mine. Whenever I would visit friends and family in Wilmington, I always got the best vibes from the locals and knew I wanted to eventually make Wilmington my home. When the opportunity arose to move here a little over five years I jumped on it, and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

-What is your favorite thing to do in Wilmington?

I’m an ocean fanatic, so anything on the water is at the top of the list. I’d have to say surfing is probably my favorite thing to do, but spending the day with friends on Masonboro Island isn’t far behind.

-What is the best piece of advice you can recommend to home sellers?

Make sure your home is being represented in the best possible light. At Team Wilmington, we make it a priority to “showcase” our listings. This means the best online marketing, research-driven staging, fantastic photography, first-class drone video tours- the works. Many buyers look through hundreds of homes and only end up picking four or five to see in person, so making sure you max out your homes’ potential is of the utmost importance.

-What is the best piece of advice you can recommend to home buyers?

Though it sounds a bit cliche’ coming from a Realtor, my best advice would be to make sure you pick the right buyer’s agent. Buying a home can be an terrifying concept to some, but finding an qualified agent makes the process a lot less intimidating. A good buyer’s agent is with you start to finish- from the preliminary stages of looking at properties and getting credit lined up, to the stressful negotiations and paperwork, through the inspections and appraisals, and finally the final walkthrough and signatures. If you have a good Realtor, doing all these things can be a breeze, but in turn a bad Realtor can make the process so much more stressful than it needs to be.
